At Christ Memorial, that's what you'll find. Real people, who have questions and concerns, joys and heartaches like yours. Real answers, grounded in the truth of God's Word. Real faith in a real Savior - a Savior who died and lives for us. Real worship and a real love for one another and the world that come as a result of that faith. We call that real gospel life.
What Is Real Gospel Life?
We're glad you asked. Real gospel life is the life of a community of sinners transformed by the power of the gospel and living for the glory of God.
CMC seeks to be an authentic, Christ-centered community characterized by real gospel life. Our vision is to see God display His power by saving sinners through the proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ by all our members, to His eternal glory (I Cor. 2:1-5). Our sanctuary is full of sinners saved through the power of the gospel, sinners seeking to be saved, and people who aren't sure why they came, but stay because they see a genuine love for one another and for God, and they want to know more.
Why the Name?
People often wonder why a church so full of life would call itself Christ 'Memorial' Church. Aren't memorials morbid? Yet Christ Memorial is anything but morbid. We rejoice as we gather each week to remember Jesus Christ, His death on the cross, His resurrection from the dead, and what that means for us as a church. Without Christ’s death, there’s no forgiveness for sins. Without Christ’s resurrection, there’s no hope for sinners. Without Christ's death and resurrection, there is no eternal life offered to sinners. Christ’s church is made up of forgiven sinners who’ve found their hope in Jesus Christ. We rejoice in the life offered us in Christ. That’s what the gospel is all about. And that’s what we at CMC never want to forget.
About 400 people gather to worship on Sunday morning. You can expect to be greeted at the door and warmly welcomed by the people in our congregation, but you won't be singled out during the service. And don't be surprised if you find yourself staying afterwards just to chat. Our congregation spans all ages and stages of life. Dress is comfortable, and you'll see anything from shorts to jeans to suits. Our music is a blend of contemporary and traditional. And our preaching, central to our Sunday gathering, is designed to help you understand what the Bible says about the gospel of Jesus Christ and why that matters to your life today.

For Your Children
Whatever their ages, your children have a place at CMC. Nursery is available for infant through kindergarten throughout the morning service. Children in grades 1-6 spend part of the service with their parents, and part in Discovery Classes being taught from the Bible at their own level. We have active ministries throughout the year for preschool through senior high, and even some to help you parent through all phases of your child's life.

We love our Sunday morning gatherings, but what about Monday? Or even Sunday night? Real gospel life means connecting life-on-life both inside and outside the church walls. Check out one of our college, young adult, men's or women's groups. If you're a teen, visit our youth group and bring a friend. Join one of our home groups, where you might meet a newly married couple wanting to grow together in their love for God, an older, wiser Christian, or someone your age just wondering what the Bible is all about.
One way you can get to know us is to explore our website. We hope it will give you a taste of who we are and what we're all about. But we also know there's nothing like talking to a real person. To contact us, call the church at 802-878-7107. Or email us at office(at)cmcvermont.org.
Or just show up on Sunday - we'd love to meet you.
